Alex Agrenich - Head Coach (Academy Coach)
Peter Barrett - Senior Coach (Academy Coach)
The current GB National coach, Alex began fencing at the age of ten. As a fencer he was 5th in the Moscow Junior Olympics and 11th in the Junior World Championships. He started coaching fulltime at Haverstock in 1999 but this didn’t stop him being a multiple winner of the Miller Hallet.
Alex says: "Harder in training, easier in battle!"
Sergei Rassolko
Peter has been coaching since 1979 after an international fencing career. Now based in Plymouth, he is best known as one of the founders and driving forces behind Haverstock Fencing Club. Peter has been the GB Junior Men's Epee coach since 1998 and has an international reputation as a leading epee coach.
Pete says: "Technique builds speed"
John “The Chairman” Ince
Sergei was part of the Belarus team that finished 6th in the 2000 Sydney Olympics Games. Following fencing he took coaching jobs all around the world including the Far East. In 2010 Sergei joined the staff in Heidenheim. He coaches fencers of all ages and abilities including, for his sins, Great Britain’s Jon Willis.
Sergei says: "It's a great way to start the season for coaches and fencers"
Andy Pavaday
A former top fencer and all round sports man, John was one of the first British coaches to graduate with a Hungarian Diploma, from the same course Andy Pavaday later attended to become a Fencing Master. He is a founder member of Haverstock fencing club and a former paratrooper, cross him at your peril!
Neale Thomas
A Haverstock club coach, 'Pavs' has been fencing for over 20 years and does not only have the coolest hairdo in world fencing, he is also a world champion: taking the gold medal in the 1999 World Police and Fire Games Championship. He received his Hungarian Diploma in all three weapons in the summer of 2007.
Andy says: "The point should get to the target in the shortest route possible. No mucking about!"
